About the Organization
Shams Zaher is the founder and CEO of Al Shams Theater and Center. He holds academic degrees in theater, education sciences, drama therapy and psychotherapy, and is a licensed therapist certified by the Ministry of Health. A reserve military officer and a true bridge-builder between communities. From a deep belief in the power of theater to change reality, Shams established the center and developed unique programs that reach thousands of children and families across the country.

Shams Zaher, a resident of Isfiya, founded Al Shams Theater in 2019 with one vision: to harness the power of theater for healing, education and connection between people. The path was not short. Shams studied theater and political science at the University of Haifa, went on to a master's degree in educational management, and alongside that completed a master's degree in drama therapy and a teaching certificate in theater — also at the University of Haifa. He completed his therapeutic training in a 3-year psychotherapy program at Oranim College.
בביה"ס יסודי אלאמל בית ג'ן היה לנו העונג השנה להפעיל כמה תוכניות שנבחרו דרך "תיאטרון אל-שמס" בהנהלת מר שמס זאהר. אחת מהן – סדנת פסיפס. במהלך המפגשים התלמידים עברו חוויה בלתי נשכחת, כאשר ביחד למדו את תהליך השימוש באבני פסיפס לאחר חשיבה קבוצתית על תוצר שיסמל רעיון. ואכן, היה בסוף תוצר בצורת קולאז' אשר ביטא את עבודת הצוות, החשיבה הביקורתית ומלאכת הידיים.
